Concertino is a three movement piece for trombone and pierrot ensemble. This unique ensemble supports the trombonist with varying timbres and colors, allowing for the soloist to take on unique characters in each movement. The first movement, the dancer, is a groovy opener which relies on folk sounds and repetition. The second movement, the lover, is a sad tale about the soloist being led on by a lover, trying multiple times to make a connection only to fail in the end. The final movement, the adventurer, reflects a sense of constant change of pace and scenario, much like a person exploring different areas on a trip.
